Welcome to Baked for the Better!

Hi! I’m Nova – music maker, home baker, and community health enthusiast. On this site, I share my journey of starting a small cottage baking business from home, because I believe that food made with love and intention is powerful. It connects people to one another, and back to the earth when they come to appreciate local, seasonal produce.

My goal is for a portion of the sales from Baked for the Better to go to non-profits helping make a difference where it’s needed. I bake out of my tiny 624 square foot apartment, but the possibilities are endless with inspiration from my favorite magazines, food Instagrams, my love for clay (but that’s another story) and the incredible culinary movement happening right here in Baltimore.

So thanks for following along, and I hope that sharing my story not only holds me accountable, but that my highs and lows, challenges and successes inspire others to pursue their sweet dreams, too.
